spicy asian coleslaw
Adapted from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives

Picture
Another Triple-D inspired dish using a combo of recipes from the formerly-named Taylor's Automatic Refresher and Joe's Farm Grill in Gilbert AZ.

1 head of cabbage, shredded
1 bag of shredded carrots
A couple of handfuls of blanched sliced almonds, roasting optional
Dressing
3T Japanese vinegar
1T sesame oil
1T shoyu
1T hoisin sauce
1T honey
1t sriracha sauce
1T red pickled ginger, and a little of the ginger juice
A bit of fresh ginger, finely chopped
Squeeze of lime juice

Mix cabbage and carrots together. Whisk together all the dressing ingredients. Toss dressing into cabbage/carrots. Don't worry if the sauce looks a little thick. It will cover everything. Toss in the almonds right before serving.

If you don't like spicy, cut down the sriracha sauce to 1/2t.
