my daddy's tartar sauce

Two things are very important here. Believe it or not, the first is not to use too much garlic. The second is to drain the relish really well before you add it to the mayonnaise.

It’s ono with cornmeal fish or my sister Omi's fish sticks. We also use it on grilled ahi sandwiches.

1 good dollop of mayonnaise
1-2 spoonfuls of sweet pickle relish
1 clove of garlic, very, very finely chopped
A little onion (maybe an 1/8th), very, very finely chopped

Mix everything together. Let it sit for 10 minutes or so.
