pine|apple jello

Another one of my Mom's Jello recipes. She actually calls is Apple Salad, but who are we kidding? It's dessert. Refreshing and a good way to make a Jello dessert when apples are in season.

1/2 cup sugar
1 3 oz. lemon jello
1 3 oz. orange jello
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
2 1/2 cups boiling water
1 8 oz. cream cheese
1 8 oz. tub Cool Whip
3 firm apples, cored and finely chopped
1 8 oz. can crushed pineapples

Mix sugar, jellos and gelatin. Dissolve dry ingredients into the 2 1/2 cups of boiling water. Put it in a bowl and refrigerate just until it starts to set.

Mix together cream cheese and Cool Whip, and then mix that into the jello mixture. Mix together pineapples and apples and fold that mix into the jello/cream cheese/Cool Whip mix. Pour the entire thing into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Refrigerate until solid.
