My niece absolutely swore she wouldn’t eat lamb, but I secretly fed it to her during the summer she was stayed with us (ohana-style).  She loved it. Gotcha Milo! In this case, I do not recommend swapping ground turkey or chicken for the lamb.

1 pound ground lamb
1/2 red onion, finely chopped (white onion is OK too)

4-5 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2-3T olive oil
Juice of one lemon
2-3T oregano
1-2T rosemary
Hawaiian salt and black pepper to taste
1 carton plain yogurt
½  cucumber, seeded and finely diced

Pita bread
Lettuce, tomatoes and red peppers chopped
The other half of the cucumber, thinly sliced
Feta cheese

Mix lamb, spices and olive oil. Let sit, overnight if possible, or at least 30 minutes. Cook lamb in a saute pan, and reduce the sauce a little.
Mix yogurt sauce.  Put meat, tomatoes, cucumbers, red peppers, feta cheese and lettuce in warmed pitas. Drizzle yogurt sauce over.
