grandma nancy's brownies

For a long time Grandma Nancy's wouldn't send her favorite recipes over. Can you blame her? Now that we have this one, we post it to the Internet!

This is a light, crispy topped, almost cake-like brownie.

1 cup melted butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 cups flour
1 cup powdered cocoa
1t baking powder

1t vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), optional

Mix melted butter and sugar together, and eggs, one at a time. Sift together flour, powdered cocoa and baking powder. Mix into eggs/butter/sugar. Mix in vanilla and nuts.

Pour into a greased 8 x 8 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
