crock pot kalua pig

Picture
This makes enough for a party, or several meals for a single family (unless your family has 19 kids and counting). Everyone loves this. My friend Kenny even made it for Thanksgiving one year.

It will look like it will be incredibly dry when you first put it in the crock pot, but don’t worry. At the end, you’ll get the tender, moist, “broke the mouth” flavorful meat that freezes well to boot.

1 hunk of pork butt, 4 lbs or so
 4T liquid smoke
2T Hawaiian salt (the red kind)

Rub liquid smoke and salt all over the pork butt. Put it in the crock pot and cook on high for 6 hours or low for 10-12 hours. It really is that simple.
