16,000 miles round trip between SFO and Israel.
Don't get me wrong. I'm extremely grateful for these travel opportunities, but it's a little tricky to return from Japan on a Wednesday night and leave for Israel three days later on a fine Saturday morning. It's done and it was amazing.
So what's cooking for the family this week? Easy stuff that can be made in a fog of jet lag, and with MAJOR help from the husband and teenagers. Here's what's cooking this week.

Grilled peanut butter-beer-miso chicken, macaroni salad, grilled vegetables. And rice. Neither Japanese nor Kosher. It will good to have a back-to-normal a family sit-down after all that traveling.
Meatless Monday
Pan-fried noodles. Yes, the husband has agreed that this can be meatless. Changing the world, one carnivore at a time.
Tuesday
Black-bean chicken stir fry with onions, zukes and mushrooms. Plus jasmine rice. Husband ROCKS at stir-fry.

Crock pot kalua pig. With kids home for the summer, it's easy to start the pot before leaving for work and then let it work its magic.
Wow-It's Meatless Thursday Too!
Almost Alfredo Pasta. This recipe is awesome because it's so creamy without cream.
Friday
Leftovers roulette. Kalua pig and cabbage, black-bean chicken over noodles, or Alfredo with grilled veggies? Let the games begin.
Travel was great, but there's no place like home.
