Where did Feeding My Ohana go?!
LA for work. O'ahu to go home. Barcelona for work (really, it was work). Boston on the way back. Slept in my bed for only 2 days since mid-February. Taken in a few of the sights and here are a few observations:
1) Every day is a good day for Ko'Olina. Everyone should swim in water this clear.
Nice, nice and nicer. Warm towels, bigger seats.
3) Binge-watching Downton Abbey is a great way to pass the time on a trans-Atlantic flight.
Does that nasty under-butler get his comeuppance? And will Lady Mary ever be happy? These are things I need to know.
4) Take in the sights even if it's just for an hour.
I skipped lunch to see the Casa Batllo, one of Antoni Gaudi's signature buildings.
How could I not when it was a 3-minute walk from my hotel?
So worth it, even if it meant staying up late to finish some work. I'm also happy to report I had a chance to see La Sagrada Familia, Barrio Gotico and the Barcelona Cathedral in a series of short bursts of power-sightseeing.
Shopping and city walking. There is a clear difference between 35 and 26 degrees. My exact words about 26 degrees at high noon were, "Holy crap, it's cold!"
Happy to report that Birdie #1's flying lessons are going quite well.
6) There's no place like home.
I missed Birdie #2 and my own bed.
