todd's a+ pie crust |
|
All my opinionated family members and who actually bake think my husband's pie crust is fab-specifically my Mom, my cousin and my Aunty. Pecan pie is his responsibility at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
|
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2t salt |
1/2 cup Crisco
5-7T very cold water |
Mix flour and salt in a medium bowl. Cut Crisco using a dinner fork until all the flour is blended in to form pea-sized chunks. Sprinkle with water 1 tablespoon at a time.
Toss lightly until the dough forms a ball. Flour rolling surface and rolling pin lightly. Roll into a circle enough for a 9” pie plate. Layout on the pie plate and pinch edges.
Make two batches for double crust pies.
Bake the beforehand if your pie recipe requires it. The fresh apricot pie does not require pre-baking.
