This section is my workspace. I'm listing a few recipes that are first-timers, others I plan to try because they sound good, or a few that I think I can rehabilitate. I like to think of it as 'market research'.

Feel free to try them and let me know what you think. Click here to email me.

New Recipes from Cleaning Out the Drawer!
Pretty Much My Mother-in-Law's Corn Chowder

Tofu Stir-Fry with Snap Peas and Mushrooms

r i p e n i n g   o n   t h e   v i n e
New recipes that have garnered a qualified thumbs-up from the family. Constructive criticism ranges from, "Yep, it's pretty close" to "It's good, but it's kinda ugly" to "Well, I'll eat it because it's there." Needless to say, they all need a little more tweaking, but feel free to check these out too.

Summer Water (Is lemon or lime better? Not sure yet)
Lychee Lemonade Slush (added a better version as an Arnold Palmer)
Pistachi-zu Tofu (much improved due to construction changes)

Shortcut Sticky Buns
Pumpkin Poppers
Lemon Arugula Pasta (very close)<--NEW
Willows Chicken/Shrimp Curry, 2011 (very close)
Shoyu Fish and Ginger/Sriracha Mayo Sandwiches (very close)<--NEW
Kim Chee Pork (very close) <--NEW
Almond Layer Cake
Ginger/Cilantro'd Fish with Coconut Cream Sauce (good but ugly)
Jalapeno Corn Cakes (way better than Thai Corn Cakes)
Indian Stir-fry (close)
Li-Hing BBQ Chicken (very close, finalizing measurements)
Plime (plum + lime) Shave Ice (has potential but waay to sour)
Onion Bacon Tart (very, very close)
Orange Cake (good, but needs some fluffiness)
Practical Pad Thai (not bad, but needs some research)
Sweet Potato Haupia Pie (better, but still needs work)

My Own Crabcakes that I Can't Eat (it was good, but I lost the recipe!)

These just didn't work. Let me know if you have a fix!

Tangerine Spinach
Tangerine juice, nutmeg, pepper. Even bacon didn't help this one.

Thai Corn Cakes
Working on a better corn cakes recipe using jalapenos instead.

Bacon/Bok Choy/Tomato/Mozzarella Pizza
The idea was to make a sort of BLT pizza. Bok choy and bacon work
well together. Bacon, tomato and mozzarella work well together.
However, the transitive property does not apply here.

Crock Pot Miso Chicken
I think I'll be sticking to the original grilled version of Peanut Butter Beer Miso Chicken. The crock pot method retains a lot of the beer flavor and thus, makes the chicken very sweet.

Hoisin-lime BBQ chicken
Replaced by a simpler, lighter Vietnamese Grilled Potluck Chicken

Pumpkin Chocolate Cake
I like pumpkin. I can like chocolate. But not at the same time. Think about the color of pumpkin and chocolate together. Not a good visual either.
